Public Storage - Merritt Island - 245 S Plumosa St

I was enroute to a different storage facility, when I saw the signs for $1 first month, and stopped in. Although, I was a bit disappointed at the misleading nature of the signs, I did decide to rent a unit here. Will, was awesome, and went above and beyond great customer service.

The customer service was excellent. I have no complaint with that. My problem is that Public Storage advertises on a very large sign in front of the building that there is only a $1.00 charge for the first month but that is only on certain units. There is also an ad online of $15. off "selected" units. Of course, mine was not a selected unit. The charge was quoted on the phone as $60. plus a one time administrative fee of $22. but they do not mention that you have to also purchase insurance when you get there and that charge is monthly. I do not like this way of doing business, hiding charges until you are already invested in securing a unit. I got the unit because there weren't many others in my community but I have a bad taste in my mouth.

I am certain that the things I have in storage are safe and secure. The lot is close by providing convenient access to my locker.
